HKAPMC Invited to “Hong Kong Five-Year Plan Consultation with Industry and Stakeholders”
On 29 May 2026, HKAPMC was invited by the Housing Department to attend the meeting. Led by President Mr. Kevin Chu, our council members provided key recommendations on introducing smart management tools to improve public housing efficiency and resident satisfaction:
– AI Smart Surveillance – Detects littering, illegal parking, smoking, falls, etc.
– Drone Inspections – Checks facades, pipes, lift shafts, rooftops, reducing high-altitude risks
– IoT Sensors – Flood alerts, parking monitoring, pest detection, elderly fall detection
– Smart Management App – Integrates e-notices, rent collection, repair requests, emergency alerts, event booking
– Refining Tender Scoring Criteria for Smart Tools – The tender already includes smart management tools; our focus is on how to refine the scoring criteria to better reflect their effectiveness
– Additional discussions:
– Boosting elderly participation in smart tools
– Building resident trust in data privacy
