Event introduction
To enhance public awareness of the importance of proper building management and to promote good practices of building management in Hong Kong, the Water Supplies Department Buildings Department, the Electrical and Mechanical Service Department, the Fire Services Department, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, and the Home Affairs Department will jointly organise the Building Management Week 2017, which is a 4-day mega event running from 21 to 24 September 2017. With the aim of further advocating a quality building management culture in Hong Kong, a”Quality Management 。Caring Buildings” Property Management Competition will be organised from May to August 2017 to give recognition to building managers with outstanding performance and to encourage them to implement effective building management systems.
Building Management Week 2017 features diversified and enriching activities including Opening Ceremony, Workshops, Symposium, Carnival, Competition and Award Presentation Ceremony. Practitioners in the building management industry and members of the public are welcome to join the activities.
Objectives
- Enhance the awareness and knowledge on building safety and property management of property management through a range of activities.
- Provide comprehensive and practical building management information with due consideration to industry demand and new knowledge to implement effective property management systems.
- Encourage property management companies / owners’ corporations / mutual aid committees / owners’ committees / other residents’ organizations to fulfill their responsibilities in building management and to proactively participate in building management services.
- Support and promote Hong Kong’s property community to create a better building management environment.
